Mid Autumn Festival Feast Fundraiser
The Victoria Chinatown Lioness Lions Club along with the Tam Kung Temple Board is holding an 8 Course Chinese Dinner with moon cakes, prizes, auction and raffle items!
The Tam Kung Temple, the oldest Chinese Temple in Canada, was built in 1912, however this site has housed a Chinese Temple since 1876 until the original building was destroyed in a fire in 1911
It was started by people, for people and over the years continues to provide a Sanctuary, a place to go and a place to belong.
The Temple now needs extensive repairs such as repairing leaking roof and windows, parts of the floor that are held together by masking tape and seismic upgrading estimated at $600,000.
Victoria City Heritage Trust is providing $200,000 and the Society is looking to raise $400,000.
The ‘Autumn Moon Festival Banquet’ will be held at Don Mee’s Seafood Restaurant in Victoria’s Historic Chinatown.
Tickets are $88 per person and $800 for a Table of 10. All net proceeds will go to support this National treasure.
