Bio
Tk is a dynamic, WCMA-nominated, Afrosoul/Jazz fusion artist whose sound weaves together Neosoul, R&B, Jazz, and Afrobeats into a smooth, groove-rich experience.
Originally from Nigeria, Tk brings a deep rhythmic connection to the stage, known for the rare ability to sing and play drums simultaneously — creating a powerful and immersive live performance. His genre-bending style and infectious energy have earned him spots at major festivals including Tofino Jazz Festival, Khatsahlano Street Party and Victoria’s Canada Day Celebration.
He’s also opened for acclaimed artists such as Cautious Clay, Earl Sweatshirt, and Bob Marley’s Wailers. Tk recently performed alongside multi grammy and Juno award winning Cuban artist, Alex Cuba, to a sold out crowd at the Garden city grooves festival.
In 2025, Tk released his full-length debut, ‘A Journey Under the Stars’, to a packed out crowd at The Coda, following a run of well-received singles with producers Jayden Brown and Alvin Mwanicky. Tracks like “All Night” and “Exercise” have received airplay on CBC Radio, CFUV, URP Radio, and Victoria Buzz.
“Exercise” made it to the semi-finals of the American Songwriters contest amongst thousands of submissions. Tk was recently nominated for the inaugural ‘Afrobeats Artist of the Year’ category at the Western Canadian Music Awards. This nomination highlights Tk’s steady rise in influence and growing recognition within the ever-evolving landscape of Canada’s vibrant underground scene.
You can catch Tk live at the Royal Theatre, opening for UK Jazz fusion band, Kokoroko, at the 2026 Victoria Jazz festival.
