What a Awesome Weekend!!
The Zone headed over to Lumberworld on Quadra Street, where we were live on location to help celebrate Lumberworld’s 50th birthday! They had some awesome prizes to give away. The event was also joined by the 89th Air Cadets, who were hosting a bottle drive and BBQ fundraiser—which The Zone happily devoured. Happy 50th Birthday, Lumberworld!.
Ranger Rem took a whimsical journey on Saturday to the Faerie & Fantasy Faire, they saw all kinds of wild and wonderful things—like people dressed as fictional creatures, a goblin market, and even a mermaid photo booth! It was a truly magical day full of fantasy and fun!
Over the weekend, Ranger Josh headed over to Prospect Lake, where he discovered an event called MAR: Be A Kid Sports Day. MAR and Power To Be teamed up to host an amazing day of fun with the kids. They enjoyed a variety of awesome activities like forest games and an egg drop challenge. MAR (Mom’s against racism) is a program created to support BIPOC families by providing a safe space where they can express themselves freely without judgment.
In Sidney, Peninsula Vet Clinic hosted an open house and BBQ fundraiser! During the open house, we got to learn all kinds of interesting things—like how pet X-rays work, what goes on in surgeries, pet nutrition, and tons of other cool facts about animal health. Overall, it was a super interesting and fun event, and a great look into a really cool field of work!

The Zone will be at Stelly’s Secondary School on Wednesday April 16th for their Fill The Hive fundraiser! Keep your eyes peeled for one of the Zone Rangers.
