Bio
Sarah Osborne is a singer-songwriter from the west coast of Canada. Hailing from a musical family and background in marine biology, this songstress and sea queen draws inspiration from the ballads of her childhood and the beauty and harshness of the natural world.
A tumbleweed going with the wind, Sarah is a natural rambler. She has played diverse stages, from train cars crossing the country (Via Rail’s Artists on Board Program), house concerts in tiny towns, to the Capital Ballroom in Victoria.
She holds court as a solo performer but can often be seen with her talented backing band, “The Magic Buttons.” Merging art and nature in the vessel of her music, Sarah believes this is a powerful tool in inspiring people to make positive changes and care for the natural world.
Taking a pause from her science career, Sarah is living in a tiny home among the trees. Most days, she can be found working on her SEASONS project (a four-volume seasonally-released album), taking in the trees and sea, and sharing a good laugh with the locals.

Sarah Osborne & The Magic Buttons are over halfway through their ambitious “SEASONS” project: a four-part series of seasonally-related mini-albums that will be conglomerated into one vinyl release for spring/summer 2022. A project of limitations, each album is recorded with a couple weekend sessions at Burning Rainbow Studio with Neil James Cooke (Astrocolor, Righteous Rainbows) and promptly released into the world.
After a handful of successful shows in 2021, Sarah plans to perform regionally with the band in 2022 and this upcoming festival season. She is also working on a solo tour out on the East Coast and dreaming up a European tour.
