Bio
Xana grew up on Vancouver Island, born into a family who surrounded her with art and music, always encouraging her creativity and imagination. Xana would perform concerts for her parents before she could fully talk. Her first memory of knowing she wanted to be an entertainer was when she was around the age of 6 while watching Avril Lavigne’s 2003 My World Tour DVD.
She filled her free time with violin, singing, art and dance lessons from the age of 5 until her late high school days. Xana started writing songs when she was in middle school after discovering the then-emerging artist Taylor Swift. She would look up karaoke versions of songs she liked on youtube and write her own lyrics to them. They were not good. Xana’s dad eventually taught her a handful of guitar chords, and her voice teacher taught her the basics on piano, which lead to more and more original song writing.
After experiencing band life from 2015-2017, Xana decided to break away and focus on her own solo project. Her previous band had brought many wonderful experiences and opportunities into her life, including touring across Canada and meeting her dear friend and brilliant drummer Ashley Gelaude, who played drums on a handful of her songs, such as Goddess and Pray. Xana spent a handful of years writing, experimenting and planning the launch her solo project in late 2020.
Xana’s debut and sophomore singles released in September and October of 2020. Goddess and Pray have accumulated over 3 million streams across platforms, after the two songs went viral on TikTok, met with a lot of love from the queer community.
Goddess embodies a womanly rage and empowerment that represents Xana as an artist, as it’s a priority to make her listeners feel as if they could fight God and win. Following up with Pray, an edgy and sexy Pop-Rock sapphic anthem about how it feels to be a woman, love women, and the intoxicating nature of such things. With mesmerizing lyricism, Xana maintains a fully charged arsenal of high-quality music, supporting the fact that she is set to make a prominent impact on the music industry.

Xana’s latest single “Tipsy” is a fun, high-energy alternative pop song that’s been described as “a fun way to be sad” making you want to dance through your tears of regret and longing. Tipsy released with a video where you can find Xana in a tutu, throwing a fit over losing a girl by destroying her 90’s themed bedroom and a break-up cake. As one typically does after having their heart shattered. Produced and mixed by Shane Stephenson, and mastered by Elisa Pangsaeng.
Xana’s next single “Yellow” is now available on all streaming platforms. Yellow is a beautifully written power ballad about doing everything in your power to avoid the inevitable. Yellow is the first song Xana recorded for her solo project, back in February of 2020. It was produced and mixed by Liam Moes in Vancouver at his house and Hippo Sonic Studios, and mastered by Elisa Pangsaeng.
Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming projects soon to be announced.
