Royals Sweep Blazers With 6-3 Win Sunday
Dante Hannoun scored a hat trick on a 4 point afternoon, as the Victoria Royals (4-0) doubled the visiting Kamloops Blazers 6-3 Sunday.
Jared Legion had 3 assists Sunday, while Victoria got goals from Erik Florchuk, rookie defenseman Matthew Smith’s 1st in the WHL, and Spencer Gerth. Ryan Peckford contributed with a pair of helpers.
It was a battle of two rookie netminders making their first WHL starts, as Royals Dean McNabb earned the win with 28 saves, while Max Palaga allowed 6 goals on 32 shots.
The Blazers got a goal and assist from Adrej Vala and Brodi Stuart, with a single from Garrett Pilon.
Victoria has won 4 straight to start the season, while Kamloops has dropped 5 in a row.
The Royals power play went 1 for 4, and have 9 goals with the man advantage in 4 games. The Blazers struck twice on three chances.
