‘Tips Blank Royals 2-0, Tuesday Take 2-1 Series Lead
Carter Hart made 25 saves as the visiting Everett Silvertips shut out the Victoria Royals 2-0 Tuesday night.
The Silvertips scored both goals on the power play in the middle frame by Patrik Bajkov and Eetu Tuulola.
“We lost the special teams game tonight…” Said Royals Head Coach Dave Lowry.
“And that’s the only goals that they score – it shows you how important they are.”
Everett was 2 for 6 on the night, and have notched 6 of their 9 total goals in the three games with the man advantage.
“They played a great road game, they’re patient, they manage the game and then capitalize on the power play. We can’t continue to give them easy power plays.” Added Lowry.
Victoria was 0 for 3 on the power play, while out shooting Everett 25-21 overall.
Griffen Outhouse took the loss for the Royals.
Bajkov had a goal and an assist, while Dominic Zwerger chipped in with a pair of helpers.
Victoria was without Jack Walker and Scott Walford.
There was one fight in the game between overagers Carter Folk of the Royals and Aaron Irving of the Silvertips.
Everett takes a 2-1 best of seven playoff series lead with Game 4 in Victoria Wednesday night. Game 5 is back in Everett Friday night.
