At a friends birthday party a few weeks ago I met a young lady called JoJo who works for Mercy Ships Canada.
Their mission statement > “Mercy Ships is an international faith-based charity using volunteers aboard hospital ships to provide free, life-changing surgeries and training in Africa”.
I had no idea this organisation existed and upon further research was blown away by the mark Mercy Ships Canada has left on so many that thought they’d never get the help or guidance they obtained thanks to the M.S.C team.
I managed to persude JoJo to get on the radio with me to learn how she got involved and to let us know about the “National Geographic Presents the Surgery Ship” screening at The Roxy Theatre this Friday.
“Join Mercy Ships Canada at the Roxy Theatre for a community pre-screening of The Surgery Ship Episode 1: the Power of Yes and No. The eight part National Geographic series follows the work of Mercy Ships, volunteers, patients and life in West Africa.
Come see what life is really like on board a Mercy Ships hospital ship. Join us after the show for a Q&A with Mercy Ships Canada’s National Director Tim Maloney and Canadian alumni Mackenzie Mosely.
Part one of the eight part series is set to air on National Geographic later in 2017.”
Thanks for stopping by,
