Flea: New signature Fender bass and playing with Koko the gorilla
The bass player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea has been up to incredible things!
He has teamed up with Fender to create his own signature bass. It’s a ’61 shell pink Jazz bass with American vintage ’64 pick ups. It also includes his tour wear and tear as a finish and a custom neck plate with his signature engraved. More details about the guitar here.
Flea recently lent his guitar to a famous gorilla named Koko, who is known for the book “Koko’s Kittten”. They shared a video of the gorilla serenading Flea on the bass. It was like the gorilla new exactly what to do with the instrument. Incredible. I can see a future bass player in that beast.. on the new Gorillaz album perhaps?
