King Tut’s Dagger Made From Meteorite: Researchers have found that a dagger that was buried alongside King Tutankhamun was made with iron from a meteorite. Scientists made the discovery by analyzing the blade. The dagger was one of two discovered in 1925 beneath the wrappings surrounding King Tut’s body. It’s also suggested that it was known at the time of the burial that it came from a meteorite. Early iron works were rarely found in ancient Egypt, and it was usually reserved it for ceremonial tools and items. The researchers said, “The introduction of the new composite term suggests that the ancient Egyptians . . . were aware that these rare chunks of iron fell from the sky.”
