Stiffer Distracted Driving Penalties, A Fort Mac Comedy Benefit Show, Live Leaf Tattoos.
Today on the Afternoon Zone;
the biggest news around the province today seems to be that penalties for distracted driving are going way way up.
Here’s a table look review of what you can expect to pay if you get caught poking around on your phone when you’re supposed to be driving.
Yea, you’re reading that table right – the tickets START at over Five Hundred Bones!! YIKES!! And why is this? Well first off a public consultation process indicated that 90 per cent of people surveyed actually want higher fines. It targets distracted drivers where it hurts – their wallets. Also time and again, it has been unfortunately proven that distracted driving causes injuries and deaths in accidents.
Every year more than 60 drivers are killed by distracted drivers on B.C. roads and about 330 are seriously injured. Go ahead and take a look through your text messages. Is a single one of them worth killing someone over?
OK, no more distracted driving, 10-4.
With everything going on up in Fort Mac, it’s great to see some creative ways of helping out pop up around Victoria. This Thursday is – Comedy for a Cause:
Every one of the comics on this list is really very funny and knowing where the money is going is a pretty stellar way to spend $15. More info can be found on the Facebook Event Page or as mentioned above, get tickets at MikeDelamont.com
Can’t get enough Comedy?! This show looks really good and is coming to the Events Centre tomorrow night – it’s just for kids like you and me – born in the 80’s and 90’s with our own unique view of the world – usually through a smart phone camera!
There’s a fun new trend in tattoos that can get you the coolest most realistic and natural looking tat available! The technique is new, but kinda just makes perfect sense… you dip an actual leaf, flower, plant, etc. into the tattoo stencil ink – then press that directly on your skin. Then you get tattooing onto that. The result is pretty wonderful as you can see in the shots below.
