Roman Villa Discovered While Rewiring UK Home
Over in Tisbury, Wiltshire designer Luke Irwin was having some new power lines laid down, the workmen had dug a deep trench. They struck a hard 18 inches below and discovered a hidden mosaic, which haven’t been laid down as floors since the Romans (in Britain).
It was found later while uncovering the mosaic, an entire villa of 16,000 square feet once stood there. Archaeologists believe that it was built between the years 175 and 220, and that it has been untouched since its collapse some 1,500 years ago
