A Classic Rock MEGA Fest in the Works!!
Looks like a serious possibility that Rifflandia wouldn’t be the final must-go-to fest of this years season. The promoters behind the Coachella Music Festival are reportedly working on bringing some of the greatest, and fair enough oldest names in rock & roll together for an unprecedented festival in the Southern California desert this October!
From the LA Times;
“Organizers are looking to book Bob Dylan,Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Neil Young and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters — all Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees — Oct. 7-9 at the Empire Polo Field site in Indio, The Times has learned.
All six have never shared billing at another concert event, and it also would be the first time that Dylan and ex-Beatle McCartney — representing the two most important rock artists of the 1960s — have played on the same bill, albeit on different nights.”
Fests with new and alternative artists are awesome, obviously, and have a wonderful, incredible energy to them – but a show like this with hit after hit and such a diverse age range of a crowd – all seeing these legends and sharing in that sing-along experience? That’d be unbelievable.
OK, let’s think about an October road trip, team. – Pol
