Sum 41 announced that their new album, 13 Voices will be released on Oct 7th this year.

This will be their first album since Deryck Whibley’s near-death experience last year in May. He was admitted to the hospital with a collapsed lung and kidneys and was told that if he had one more drink, he could die. He lost all of his motor skills and had to re-learn how to walk and play the guitar. This was sobering moment for him, literally.

Whibley is doing much better now and says this, about the new album: “This new music represents the journey I’ve been on throughout the process of making this record. I had to fall in order to rise, and nothing feels better than to have something you love that you had to really fight for. I can honestly say that 13 Voices‬ saved my life and I cannot wait to share it with all of you.”
