University of Victoria researchers and their collaborators on an international research team have discovered a new dwarf planet! The planet is one and a half times the size of Vancouver Island, and orbits in small icy worlds beyond Neptune.

But how did they locate it? What does this mean exactly?

I got UVIC Professor JJ Kavelaars on the phone to discuss his discovery 🙂

Thanks for stopping by,

P.S. The header picture is NOT affiliated with the dwarf planet 😉
