A couple years ago a local skater made a petition to have a bylaw removed. That bylaw set in 1991 prohibited riding skateboards on streets in the downtown core. The petition was a success and skate boarders, long boarders and rollerbladers now have the right to ride throughout downtown.

The city of Victoria has added new signage indicating those riders use the same lanes as bicycles.

And looky here what I saw around my hood earlier this week!
