Vince Vaccaro has been working so very hard the last year, pushing his musicianship and songwriting to the limit, and if this new song doesn’t show you that growth, I’m not sure what will. This is without doubt, in my mind, the most mature piece of music Vince has ever made. It’s unexpected, touching, and beautifully performed.

BUT before we played it for the first time, I gave him a cheeky unannounced call to get some context on it. Here’s our chat;

His new EP, “So Long Wicked Tide”, is being readied for release, and here is “Siren”.

Who is that beautiful female vocal? That’s Vancouver Island’s Kaitlin Jasmine, otherwise known as Arctica. She’s working on her debut EP right now 🙂

Siren Lyrics:
(by Vince Vaccaro)

I feel you slippin’ away from me
Bent in the lock is a broken key
This is the mess that you made
Stare at the sun as it fades

This is the end of the road for me
I know you’re lying I don’t want to hear it anymore
Don’t want to sink like before

I don’t want to feel this, get me high
Take me to the ocean, sink into the sky
Lay beneath the palm trees, you and I
Faded like the sun, I could see it in your eyes

I feel you slippin away from me
You wanted nothin’ now you’re never gonna get it back
Oh… should have known better

This is the mess that you left for me
Ain’t no one waiting and there’s no one dancin’ in the dark
This was the loneliest love

I don’t want to feel this, get me high
Take me to the ocean, sink into the sky
Lay beneath the palm trees, you and I
Faded like the sun, I could see it in your eyes

Thanks for stopping by,
Jon

  1. I’m so proud to have music like this from Vancouver Island. Fantastic job Vince on your latest EP. It sounded totally rad at the Duncan Showroom. And Artica is killing it on the ethereal vocals!! I’m keeping an eye out for both of you in the coming months and years.
