The Duke and Duchess are making a visit to BC from Sept 24th – Oct 1st and will be in Victoria for most of the trip. If the opportunity arises and you get to meet William and Kate, there are a few things you should note when meeting the royal couple.

According to canada.pch.gc.ca, this is what is acceptable.
-Greet them with a curtsy or bow. Hand shake only when offered.

-Address them as “Your Royal Highness” on first reference and Sir and Ma’am as the conversation continues.

-There is no requirement for hats to be worn, though it is entirely acceptable to do so. Hats are not normally worn at functions after 6:30 p.m.

-There is no requirement for gloves to be worn. However, if a woman wishes to wear them, they need not be white and should not be taken off before the wearer is presented.

-No selfies. They take up too much of their time.
