David Bowie’s first TV appearance was not related to music, surprisingly.

In 1964, David was the founder of ‘The Society Of The Prevention of Cruelty To Long-Haired Men’, and was invited on a show called Tonight to argue his case. Here is a clip of him and Cliff Michelmore, bantering about men with long hair.

If you are man with luscious locks, you can probably thank David Bowie for helping your hair style become socially acceptable.

Let it flow, yo.
