Greek Fest 2010
Come live a day the Greek way!

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to support Greek Fest 2010 from Wednesday, September 1 - Monday, September 6 at The Greek Orthodox Church and Community Centre!

Everyone is invited to celebrate Greek culture with food, fun and entertainment at this FREE event! Try savory dishes like souvlaki, spanokopita and gyros while enjoying traditional Greek dancing and musical performances! OPA!

The Great Chili Challenge
Let YOUR taste buds be the judge in this ultimate cook-off!

The Zone is excited to support The Sooke Lions Club for The 4 Annual Great Chili Challenge! It takes place on Saturday, September 11 at 6639 Sooke Rd. (across from Evergreen Center).

Come support The Sooke Lions Club with a day of entertainment, prizes and all of the delicious chili you can eat! Up to 30 teams will be onsite for the ultimate cook-off and YOU get to sample their chili, play judge and decide whose is the best.

Entertainment includes live performances from "The Mod's" and "Cold Sweat".

Team Zone will be one of the fierce competitors, in it to win it! So be sure to stop by our tent, cheer us on and steal a taste of our chili masterpiece!  

Schedule:
• 8:00 am - Cooking starts
• noon - Tasting and judging starts
• 4:00 pm - Awards

Eves of Destruction Roller Derby
Come support the girls for their last bout of the season!

The Zone is excited to support The Eves of Destruction as they take on CarnEvil (Jet City Roller Girls) for their final bout of the season on Saturday, September 18 at Archie Browning Sports Centre!

Doors are at 6:00 pm and the hard-hitting derby action starts at 7:00 pm. After a killer season the girls are fired up and ready to go out with a bang, so make sure you get there early to get a good seat for the fast-paced entertainment!

 Ticket info:

• $10 in advance at Logan's Pub, Hive Hair Salon, or online.
• $15 at the door (limited supply available)
• Children 12 and under are free (max 2 children per adult)

The Zone's Campus Crawls
We're invading campuses and giving out free stuff!

The Zone is going to make your back to school experience rock with a series of Campus Crawls in September!

We'll have tons of stuff to give away, including the infamous student-staple Macazoni & Cheese, prizes from Island Blue Print Co., Switch Boardshop and tickets to our Road to Rifflandia show with Sweet Thing!

Here's the schedule:

• Tuesday, September 7 - CamFestival at Camosun Lansdowne from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
• Thursday, September 9 - Beer Garden at Camosun Lansdowne from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
• Thursday, September 16 - Beer Garden at Camosun Interurban from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
• Friday, September 17 - Thunderfest at UVic (time TBA)
• Monday, September 27 - CamFestival at Camosun Interurban from 9:00 am - 11:00 am

While we're there, you can also enter to win a spot on the legendary Zone Back to School Pub Crawl.

With 11 venues and over 150 artists, the third annual festival promises to be bigger and better than ever- and all you need is one wristband for admission to ALL shows!

The Easter Seals Drop Zone 2010
It's a bird! It's a plane! Its...Its...YOU!

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to support The Easter Seals Drop Zone 2010 on Thursday, September 16 at The CIBC Building downtown (1175 Douglas St.)!

Want the chance to be your own super hero? Maybe form a TEAM of super heroes?

All you have to do is register for Drop Zone, raise a minimum of $1000 and muster up the strength and courage to rappel down 13 stories! Oh...and maybe go shopping for some tights and a cape first.

All of the money raised goes to helping Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan and Easter Seals House for children with disabilities.

Victoria Bridal Expo 2010
Plan your entire wedding in one day!

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to be a part of The Victoria Bridal Expo 2010 on Sunday, September 19 at Crystal Garden!

This is a fun-filled day for brides and grooms-to-be, wedding parties, families and friends! Designed to minimize the stress of planning your big day, you can meet with over 60 wedding professionals who have all of the information, ideas and products you need in ONE spot. Exhibitors include everything from photography, flowers, catering, rings, honeymoons and more! There are even daily fashion shows showcasing the latest in bridal wear for both men and women to find your perfect look.

Event Info:

• 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
• Tickets are $18 in advance (All Vancouver Island Thrifty Foods locations, The Bay, Home Outfitters, or online here) and $20 at the door.

South Island Straight Line Racing Association
Race At The Track, Not On The Streets

The Zone @ 91- 3 is proud to support Drag Race Victoria in it's effort to spread the word about the alternatives to street racing.

Drag Race Victoria is a non-profit group of "drag racers against street racing" that encourage young and adult drivers to race at Western Speedway in a safe and controlled environment.

Race dates for September are:

Sunday, September 12 - Points Race 11, All Classes

Sunday, September 19 - Championship Race 12, All Classes

Sunday, September 26 - Championship Rain Date

Admission is $8 for adults and kids are FREE!
