National Little League Fundraiser
Help us raise money for Victoria's oldest park!
National Little League has been offering baseball and softball programs to inner-city youth for 60 years!
Their open door policy has ensured that NO CHILD is ever turned away - regardless of the families financial situation - allowing for countless experiences and priceless memories.
At this point in time, they are in dire need of financial support to help them continue this amazing community service.

We are now accepting cash and cheques (made payable to The TLC Fund for Kids or National Little League) at The Zone, in hopes of reaching a goal of $10,000.00 by the 60th anniversary celebration on Saturday, May 25.
We're also having a live rock auction on Wednesday, May 22 on The Afternoon Zone with Jeremy Baker (3:00pm - 6:00pm)!

Island Children's Festival

The second annual Island Children’s Festival takes place Saturday, May 25, featuring local food vendors, crafts & activities, and live entertainment with headliner Fred Penner!
When: noon–5:00pm

Tickets: $10 | Children 5 & under are free
Proceeds go to The Island Education Access Fund.

The 70th Annual Swiftsure International Yacht Race is this weekend!
Thursday, May 23 - Friday, May 24: Come down to the Inner Harbour and see sailboats from all over the Pacific Northwest prepare for the start of the race.You can also enjoy the liquor lounge in the Swiftsure Centre at Ship Point from 2:00pm – 11:00pm featuring live entertainment!
Saturday, May 25: Join The Central Saanich Lion's Club for a pancake breakfast (8:00am) at Clover Point and to watch the start of the race (10:00am).

Victoria Spot Prawn Festival
Celebrate fresh, sustainable and local seafood at this free event.
The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to present the inaugural Victoria Spot Prawn Festival, Sunday, May 26 from 11am – 5pm at the Roundhouse at Bayview Place in Vic West. Join Vancouver Island chefs, seafood suppliers, industry leaders and food lovers for a free celebration of seasonal, sustainable seafood.
Fresh seafood, including live BC spot prawns at the peak of their season, will be available for purchase, while chefs share recipes and demonstrate ways to prepare and enjoy seafood dishes using locally-available ingredients.
The day will also feature artisans and crafters, musical performances, kids activities, and a speaker series including industry leaders, seafood experts and local foodies. Food vendors will have seafood and other dishes to enjoy during the festival.
LONG TABLE DINNER
The Victoria Spot Prawn Festival will kick off the event with a Long Table dinner hosted by the Island Chef’s Collaborative on Saturday, May 25. The dinner will feature six seafood courses each prepared by a different ICC chef. Tickets are $150 and are very limited.

Power To Play
Help Team Zone raise money for Power To Be Adventure Therapy
Power To Play Corporate Challenge is back for 2013 - on Sunday, May 26 at a new top secret location! This outdoor adventure race will see 35 corporate teams fundraise while competing in fun mind-bending and physical challenges designed to get racers invigorated, energized and muddy.
Proceeds will support Power to Be Adventure Therapy, nature-based programs for youth and families in need of support in our community.

13th Annual Brazilian Cultural Festival
Brazil comes to Victoria!
The Zone is proud to support The 13th Annual Brazilian Cultural Festival, Saturday May 25 and Sunday May 26 at the Empress Hotel.
Saturday night, take in the sights and sounds of Brazil with a dance party featuring Batuque Axé and a 12-piece band, colourful costumes, and even hotter dance moves. Dance party doors open at 9:00 pm.
The Sunday afternoon performance will showcase 40 costumed dancers in elaborate costumes with Brazilian beats. Doors open at 2:30 pm.
Axé Capoeira's local troupe has performed around Victoria at various festivals and promises a great show featuring some of the group's most renowned and international stars.
Tickets are $25 for Saturday's Dance Party and $20 for Sunday's showcase.

All bouts are at Archie Browning Sports Centre. Doors at 6:00pm, whistle at 7:00pm.
Tickets are $10 in advance at Logan's Pub, Hive Hair Salon or online, and $15 at the door.

Racing starts at 10:30am till 3:30pm, behind Western Speedway's race oval.
Fun for the whole family, watch as riders as young as 7 and as old as masters class battle top position on Victoria's only motocross track featuring over 2 kilometers of track.

Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay
Help the kids and have fun doing it!
This year’s Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay for the Kids takes place Saturday, June 22–Sunday, June 23 at UVic!
This annual community-based fundraising event challenges groups of people to run or walk relay-style for 24 hours. Teams of runners and/or walkers made up of Corporate and Recreational groups collect individual pledges or organize team fundraising events to raise funds towards their collective team totals.
All the money raised will benefit Easter Seals’ Camp Shawnigan, giving children with disabilities the chance to discover their individual abilities!
