The brain and technology: who’s driving whom?  Three mini talks (7 – 12 minutes each) on technologies and the brain: videogames that help children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder; new technologies in autism research; and cell phones and distracted driving. Half the world's population is under the age of 25. Research that includes the perspectives of young people is critically important – whether the topic is: what kind of city we want to live in, how can we stop cyber aggression or what makes transitions to employment successful?

A fundraiser to assist women in rural Ghana, the money raised will go to the women as an interest free micro loan for one year to start up small businesses. Profit generated through the business becomes the new seed money to continue the business and when she pays the loan back then the paid back loan is given to another woman in the village.

Crafting for Cancer is to raise money for The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund which supports pet cancer research at the University of Guelph.

We will be hosting a fundraiser for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) at The Butchart Gardens. Tickets to this black tie event will include dinner, access to view The Gardens before and after the event until 10:00pm, music provided by a concert pianist as well as speeches throughout the evening.
 
The situations that MSF handles are extremely delicate, as they are often the first responders to any conflict worldwide. For more than 40 years, MSF have been providing medical help to people caught in many kinds of catastrophes, including armed conflicts, natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes, epidemics of disease and malnutrition crisis.

These obstacle course races are expertly designed to challenge all fitness levels! Participants can expect to climb, drag, crawl, push, pull and run their way along the course, and most certainly get covered in mud!
