The second annual Victoria Vegan Festival (#VVF2013) is a showcase of the vegan lifestyle, welcoming all, from the curious to the long-time vegan.
Taking place on Canada Day (Monday, July 1st) at Market Square in the heart of downtown Victoria – this FREE fun family friendly event will feature speakers, entertainers, businesses and non-profit groups, and of course you can expect numerous delicious vegan food samples.
Come find out how you can help make a difference in your health, the environment, and the loves of animals – it’s amazing what a few small changes, three times a day can do!

We invite you to a fun fiasco of boys wearing heels and girls sporting moustaches, all while playing a game of baseball!

The fun begins at 12:00pm.

Here is your chance to see if you can float your boat.

Teams of 3 will have 4 hours and a budget of $100 to build a quick boat, that hopefully floats. When time is up, the boats will race from shore to a marker and back. The first team to cross the finish line wins.

Registration is $25. Check in time from 10:30-11:30am. Contest begins at 12:00pm, race starts at 4:45.

The first road event for the Victoria Track Series is on July 1st!
This race is 5km and takes place at The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence at Camosun College.

Come take a stroll through the Historical Sites, sample Vancouver Island wines, view the works of Island artists, taste appetizing bites created by Westshore's top chefs, and enjoy music provided by Island Big Band. From 11:00am-4:00pm.

$40 per ticket. Proceeds will help build an exclusive playground at Westshore Parks & Rec. and assist other community programs.

On the lookout for 60 local fishermen to volunteer their time, boats and knowledge to teach the 120 kids how to fish and have a great time.

After 3 hours, all participants will return to Pedder Bay Marina to enjoy the music, food and good company.

The first cross country event in the Victoria Run Series will be on Saturday, August 31st!
This 6k run will be taking place at Beaver Lake park.

Take part in a healthy activity while enjoying some friendly compeition!

The Silent Auction & Awards Evening for the Victoria Run Series is on Sunday, September 29th!
The athlete who received the most votes from his or her peers, while competing in any of the Victoria Run Series races will be presented with The Maurice Tarrant Performance Award.

Even if you couldn't race this year, you still have a chance to help raise money for the Mustard Seed Food Bank in the silent auction!

The evening will be taking place at the Sticky Wicket Pub at the Strathcona Hotel.
