Esquimalt Farmer's Market Clothesline Campaign (on behalf of the Canadian Diabetes Association)

Have you gone through your wardrobe yet? Do you have old clothes just taking up space? Clear out those closets and bring your good used clothes (only) to the Esquimalt Farmer's Market – 1231 Esquimalt Road - July 9th or August 6th. Together with the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Esquimalt Farmer's Market are raising awareness about local food production, supporting the local economy and diverting usable goods from landfill. While you’re there, enjoy the Farmer's Market. Fill up your fridge with fresh local produce, your belly from one of our awesome food trucks and your home with beautiful items from our vendors. Bring your old clothes Thursday July 9th or August 6th, 4:30pm - 7:30pm to the Esquimalt Farmer's Market.

Each year, our island summers bring legions of visitors from around the world. We invite you to come to experience our one-of-a-kind arts destination and savour original small works of art perfect to take home as a reminder of a wonder west coast vacation (equally satisfying for staycationers, too!).

This show will feature art and craft celebrating regional landmarks, landscapes, native plants and animals; unique items crafted from locally sourced materials; and one-of-a-kind small works by Vancouver Island artists. We invite island artists to capture the beauty of our region, its amazing natural surroundings and range of unique local experiences in paintings, photography, glass art, sculpture, and fabric art.

The 24th Annual “Michael Dunahee Slo-Pitch” Tournament of Hope Saturday, August 8 - Sunday, August 9, 2015
at Topaz Park

Twenty four Union sponsored Slo-Pitch teams are poised to hit home runs for Child Find BC for the 24th annual “Michael Dunahee Slo-Pitch” Tournament of Hope.

“This is the biggest fundraiser of the summer for Child Find BC” said Child Find BC President Crystal Dunahee, she went on to say, “the money raised through the Tournament of Hope  ($12,000 dollars last year) goes toward printing costs for Child Find BC literature and the All About Me ID Kits.” –‘and all of the services provided by Child Find BC are provided at no cost to parents and BC communities”.

Again this year there is free child care provided for the  children of players, with licensed child care professional on site from CUPE 2081 (Camosun College), along with the children’s favorite “kids game” at 1:00pm on Sunday and everyone is invited to watch as Sky Divers descend with the final game ball at approximately 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon. Over the years this tournament has become a favorite with ball teams from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland—many teams have been in from the beginning and some are here for the first time—the tradition continues!

Tod Inlet Nature Float

Open on Wednesday - Saturday from 11:00am - 3:00pm, the Tod Inlet Nature Float will be hosting canoe tours, historical walks, treasure hunts (with up to $50 worth of prizes), a watershed model activity, and marine activities for kids. Everything is offered on a by-donation basis!

We're located near Butchart Gardens in beautiful Tod Inlet, Brentwood Bay. It's a great way to spend a summer's day with family or friends! Please view our website for details on when each activity is available, and for tour group sizes. You can also contact with any questions.

Mud Mulisha Mud Run

These obstacle course races are expertly designed to challenge all fitness levels! Participants can expect to climb, drag, crawl, push, pull and run their way along the course, and most certainly get covered in mud! KinPark Kid’s Camp is a great opportunity for children, ages 6 - 12, to learn plenty about gardening, and farming, while making long lasting memories and friendships. Our focus is on education about planting, growing, cooking, and of course eating local food at our KinPark Youth Urban Farm located in downtown Duncan. Aside from gardening, planting seeds, harvesting crops, and cooking, other activities at the urban farm include yoga, sports, games, and crafts, as well as swimming at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre.

Integrate Arts Festival

Join us for a free, family-friendly festival that celebrates the diverse arts and culture community in Victoria, B.C. An opening reception will be held on the evening of August 28th (7pm -10pm) in the Bay Centre Mall! On August 29th, stroll downtown between our participating galleries, or use our bus to enjoy our art crawl from 6pm to 9pm. To close the festival on Sunday, we will host a guided bike tour with a lineup of talented artists from 12pm to 4pm.

Integrate Arts Festival

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to support the Integrate Arts Festival taking place August 28, 29, and 30.

Now in its ninth year, the festival is a non-for-profit art crawl that highlights and celebrates the small galleries, artist-run centers, and alternative arts in Victoria.

Friday August 28 will start off with the Opening Reception at The Integrate Headquarters (The Bay Center, Fort Street Entrance), from 7pm until 10pm.

The En-Masse Art Crawl takes place on Saturday, August 29. You can stroll around town or Hop On / Hop Off the Integrate bus to see as many art spaces in one night as you can! Pick up your map and brochure from the Integrate HQ, or access the art crawl map on their website!

Play in the Park

For the third year in a row, Panorama Recreation will be offering a FREE opportunity for families to play together right here on the Peninsula! Taking place weekdays 5:30 - 8:30 pm in August. Each night, the Play in the Park staff will host interactive play, group games, and of course, inflatable fun on our giant 50’ obstacle course! The program will be offered at 7 different parks throughout Sidney, North Saanich and Central Saanich.

Combining One Wave Festival with our 22nd Pacific Networking Conference, which brings together Indigenous artists, elders, and changemakers from across the North and South Pacific. The theme of this event is “Rising tides: our lands, our waters, our peoples.” Four days of experiences at the T’Souke, Tsartlip, Songhees communities and the University of Victoria will culminate in a free, family-friendly event from 12:00pm - 6:00pm.

The event will bring together local groups dedicated to Pacific issues, featuring music, poetry, interactive art, and dance from the South and North Pacific.
