Let's French - CILS FM Benefit Concert

The benefit concert is organised since 2014 and gather each year, members of Francophone and Francophile Community in Victoria. They can manifest their support to the radio and participate to a cultural and fun party.
The evening's first half will feature Francophone artists (musicians and Slam poets). Food stalls and bars will offer some thematic food and drinks. A children's corner workshop will be animated during the whole event, to support intergeneration gathering and make everyone happy! Some activities will be organised all evening.
In the second part of the evening, the audience will enjoy the talented singer, Myriam Parent, with the band Combustion lente, who will give a concert in the Gérald and Henriette Moreau Theatre.

The Fairfield Artists Studio Tour is an annual self-guided tour that provides art-lovers an opportunity to meet local artists, tour their studios and view their work while exploring the beautiful neighbourhood of Fairfield, Victoria BC. May 8th is Mother's Day this year and the studio tour is a great way to spend some family time with your mother.

This free community event is a celebration of the rich variety of art being created in Victoria. Established and emerging artists open their studio doors to the public to display their fine art including painting, pottery, glass, jewellery, textiles and photography.

Now in its fifteenth year, the Fairfield Artists Studio Tour attracts a large group of talented artists and hundreds of visitors who can be seen walking, cycling and driving around the neighbourhood in search of inspiring art and the people who create it.

Join Carlie Kilduff (Cliff's niece) and friends for an afternoon of spoken word poetry, story telling, and music from local musicians.

BBB serving Vancouver Island in partnership with Access Records is hosting our 7th annual community shredding event. We will accept up to 5 bags or boxes of confidential paper documents, per person, for shredding free of charge.

Access Records & Media Management will have their mobile shredding truck available and onsite to shred all paper documents. Shredding services are free of charge, however people are invited to make a donation to the radical renovation project at the Rainbow Kitchen.

Hot Dogs and beverages will be available for purchase by donation. All money collected will go directly towards the Rainbow Kitchen.

Multicultural Health and Food Fair

This is our fifth year of organizing the Multicultural Food and Health Fair but this year because of the special needs of these families we have incorporated this with a fundraiser, with proceeds going towards services for the Syrian Refugees. We are expecting 400 Syrian refugees to come to Victoria in the next year.

VIRCS is non-profit organization with three decades of experience assisting over 3,000 immigrants and refugees families to settle and adapt to their new lives in Greater Victoria. This organization was founded by three refugees from Chile, Vietnam and Eretria who had the vision of providing services that were welcoming grass roots efforts.

The Multicultural Food Fair will be offering:

Health services education - diabetic clinic, diet education, dental hygiene etc.
Multicultural performances throughout the event
Food sales (Food donated by restaurants)
Community partners in supporting us by participating at the event and providing free health clinics and information on other social services

Come paint with us in celebration of Mental Health Month in May. By purchasing a ticket your money will be directly supporting those with mental illnesses in Victoria. This event will be a great opportunity to artistically express (or “ArtSpress”) yourself and be among others who appreciate the importance of art as a form of therapy. In recognition for their hard work in our local community, all event proceeds will be donated to the Vancouver Island Crisis Society .

This will be a fun, social ceramic painting night while sipping delicious tea and tapping into the creative side of your brain. You will be instructed on various art therapy techniques and will listen to our guest speakers talk about mental wellness and the importance of creative outlets! We will be giving our prizes and filling your bellies with healthy snacks. Fired Up will kiln fire your ceramic and your finished art piece will be ready for pick up within a week and will remain as a symbol of your support of Mental Wellness in our community!
