The 7th annual GottaCon Gaming Convention starts at 5:00 pm on Friday, February 27 and close at 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 1 -- with nightly shutdowns between 2:00 am and 8:30 am. GottaCon will have all you need to survive such an adventure; contests, tournaments, exhibitors, demonstrations, discussion panels, entertainment and of course all types of games.

Global Gala Thursday, November 20, 2014
at Stelly's Secondary School

The grade 12 Global Perspectives class of Stelly's Secondary School will be travelling to Silana, Fiji in March of 2015 to build an elementary school library and a water conservation system.
The Global Gala on November 20 is their largest fundraiser, and funds all expenses related to the project itself, (not personal expenses such as flights).
The gala consists of refreshments, food, entertainment, and a massive silent auction.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door to the event, which is hosted by the students at Stelly's Secondary School.

Camosun Hospitality Management students invite you to an afternoon of Tea, Food & Education. Tickets are $45 and all proceeds from the event go to Camosun College Child Care Services to support them in the amazing service they provide. There will be three wonderful presenters: Ben from Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub, Jared from JagaSilk, and Tiffanie from Just Matcha, who will be joining and educating on the wonders of tea. Live music will be played at the Dunlop House by Mosaic Jazz, where you will also get to enjoy some of the tasty teas that the students have paired with delicious foods. They will also be offering some tea cocktails, as well as a Spinnakers Nut Brown Ale infused with a herbal Chai. Tickets are available by phone (250) 812-2803, online and at the door.

Camosun Stache Dash

The Stache Dash is a 5km walk/run to raise money for the Movember charity, with all proceeds going towards prostate and testicular cancer research. Everyone is welcome to register, wear a Mo' and come out and support the Mo' Bros!

The BC Ambulane service in participation with Thrifty Foods is hosting the 5th annual Fill the Ambulance food drive. It will be at Colwood Thrifty Food’s. There will be an ambulance on site, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies.

Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 from 9:00am - 6:00pm .

Please come out and help support a great cause, all proceeds go to local families in need via the WestShore Christmas fund.

A handmade market with all items locally handmade and geared towards babies, kids and youth. There is a new crafters corner featuring talented youth and their handmade goods, plus there will also be free crafting workshops throughout the day for different age groups. Goods will feature everything from soft knits, wooden toys, fashions for all ages, room decor, and even super hero capes and skateboards all made here on the Island! The Vic Theatre is putting on a Quote-Along screening of classic comedy Anchorman! Audience members are encouraged to break out of their glass cases of emotion by dressing up and quoting their favourite lines alongside Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 News Team. With games, drinks, and a moustache contest, it’s the most fun you can have in a theatre.

Join us at the screening for Victoria’s 1st Annual Moustache Competition,  there will be prizes. To commemorate the occasion, The Vic will also be serving $7 (scotchy scotch) scotch, and $8 bourbon milkshakes.

Tickets are $15 and $5 from every ticket will be donated to The Prostate Centre in Victoria. Get your tickets in advance, as sales are sure to escalate quickly. This is a 19+ event.

Victoria Eagles Bottle Drive Fundraiser Saturday, November 29, 2014, 12:00 am

The Victoria Eagles believe in giving back to the community, this year they have chosen to help the Walker family with their struggle. Tami Walker is a 47 year mother who needs a double lung transplant, which is the only option that remains. It is their responsibility for all post-op care costs, including housing, transportation and living expenses for the 3 to 6 months following the transplant.

Please help us help them on Saturday, November 29 from 9:00am - 3:00pm at Lambrick Park.

Victoria Eagles will also be going door to door in the Gordon Head area on Saturday, November 29. If you have bottles that you want picked up please email eaglesgiveback@victoriaeagles.com and we will gladly come by and get them.
