The Victoria Royals were eliminated from the post season Wednesday night, falling in 4 straight to the Tri City Americans after a 5-3 loss. Tied at 3 in third, the Americans scored a pair to earn the win and complete the sweep.

Royal Farewell – Victoria had a pair of 20-year-old skaters take part in their final WHL playoff contest tonight in blueliners Chaz Reddekopp and Kade Jensen. Reddekopp skated in 280 regular season contests as a Royal, while Jensen accumulated 310 regular season games split between the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Swift Current Broncos, Brandon Wheat Kings and Victoria. Tyler Soy, who spent his entire junior career with the Royals and holds the franchise record for most career regular season games played with 323, also had his WHL career end despite not playing tonight.
Record Setter – Royals’ goaltender Griffen Outhouse set the franchise record for most games played in a post-season campaign with his 11th appearance tonight. The record was previously held by alumnus Coleman Vollrath who took part in 10 games in the 2016 WHL Playoffs.
INJURED: The Royals were without their 3 top centerman in Tyler Soy, Tanner Kaspick, Jeff DeWit and defenseman Scott Walford. 3 of those players are NHL drafted.
The Americans were without Calgary Flames 1st round defenseman Juuso Valimaki and Anaheim Ducks prospect Kyle Olson.
