The Victoria Royals fell 5-1 to the Vancouver Giants in Langley on Tuesday night and now trail the best of seven playoff series 2 games to 1.
Giants Netminder David Tendeck earned first star honours with 35 saves, which included stopping a pair of breakaway chances by Matthew Phillips and Dante Hannoun on a 2 on 0.
It was Tendeck’s post season debut after missing 5 games due to injury.
Griffen Outhouse took the loss with 28 saves on 33 shots.
Royals Head Coach Dan Price Post Game:
Down 1-0 after 20 minutes, the Royals out shot their hosts 15-8 in the middle frame but came away empty handed.
Tyler Benson scored in the final minute of the second period on the power play to go up 2-0.
Vancouver defenseman Matt Barberis took a 5 min major and game misconduct for a cross check on Kaid Oliver at the end of the period.
Victoria was unable to capitalize on the power play, taking a penalty on the intern, which ate 2 minutes off the man advantage.
The Giants struck for a pair of goals shortly after, before Noah Gregor sniped on the power play for the Royals.

Vancouver added one more afterwards to seal the win.

The Giants got goals from 5 different skaters; Owen Hardy, Tyler Benson who added and assist, Milos Roman a goal and two helpers, Bowen Byram, and James Malm. Ty Ronning and Brennan Riddle had 2 assists each.
Both clubs struck for a goal each on the power play, Victoria was 1 for 5, while Vancouver 1 for 3.
The Royals were without their top 2 centerman in Tyler Soy and Tanner Kaspick. They were also missing Dino Kambietz and defenseman Scott Walford.
Giants Darian Skeoch missed his second of a 3 game suspension for his check to the head of Kambietz.
Announced attendance 4683, in the first playoff game at home for the Giants since 2014.
Game 4 goes Thursday night at 7pm in Langley. Game 5 is Saturday in Victoria.
