The Royals received honourable mention in the CHL Top 10 this week, replacing the Tigers who also sit atop of their division.
Earlier in the day Victoria acquired 20 year old defenseman Kade Jensen from Brandon for a 5th round pick 2018.
Jensen, a Calgary, AB product, has tallied five points (2g-3a) and 30 penalty minutes in 25 contests so far this season with Brandon. Last year, the 6-3, 218 lb defender registered four goals and 10 assists to go along with 94 minutes in penalties in 73 games split between the Swift Current Broncos and Wheat Kings.
Jensen has played in 277 career WHL games, with the Wheat Kings, Broncos and Lethbridge Hurricanes, and has recorded 56 points (17g-39a) and 344 penalty minutes.
Jensen was originally drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in Round 5, 103rd overall, in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.
Victoria looks to avenge a 10-4 home loss to Lethbridge Saturday night to wrap up the trek on a high note.

Top Teams – Tonight’s contest was between a pair of divisional leaders. The Royals sit atop the BC Division with an 18-9-3-0 record. The Tigers meanwhile, hold a 16-10-0-0 mark, good for first in the Central Division.
Streaking Skaters – A pair of Royals are now on three-game point streaks. Dante Hannoun has registered four assists since November 28th, while Tyler Soy has earned three points (2g-1a) in his last three contests.
Extra Time – Victoria has now taken part in two consecutive overtime games. The last time the club was in back-to-back games that required extra time was on December 7 and 9, 2016 against the Spokane Chiefs and Portland Winterhawks.
Perfect 10 – With Igor Martynov’s goal tonight, the Royals now have seven players on their roster with 10 or more goals this season. This is the most of any team in the WHL, ahead of the Moose Jaw Warriors who have six skaters with 10 or more goals.
Next Up – The Royals will now head to Lethbridge to wrap up their four-game road trip against the Hurricanes tomorrow night. Puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Coming Home: The Royals return to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on December 8th as they take on the Kootenay ICE on Teddy Bear Toss Night. This event is one of the most popular games of the season and fans are encouraged to secure their seats in advance. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Select Your Tickets box office, over the phone by calling 250-220-7777, or online at www.selectyourtickets.com.
