Metric is playing July 24th in Colwood for Rock The Shores, and we were able to sneak in a phone call with front woman, Emily Haines before gearing up for the festival.
We chatted about the follow-up to Pagans in Vegas, protecting the integrity of Metric, and the future of women in rock and roll. Have a listen.
“Anyone who can’t hear a song without hearing the gender, who can’t hear the guitar riff without hearing the gender, they have got so much work to do. I think it’s not worth anybody’s attention, it’s just the rest of us are progressing at greater speeds.” -Emily Haines
“Women will bring back rock. Rock Is dying and dead, and I think it’s going to be women.” -Emily Haines
They hit the stage at 8:30 on Sunday, you can get tickets here: http://rocktheshores.com/tickets/
