On May 14th, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were set to play the KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast, but they unfortunately had to cancel after Anthony Kiedis was sent to the hospital.
He was suffering from severe stomach pain hours prior to the show. It is still unknown as to what caused the pain.
The 16,000 concert goers were “devastated”, but still received a show from Weezer, Blink 182, Panic! at the Disco, Empire of the Sun, Garbage, Lumineers, Fitz and the Tantrums and Miike Snow.
I sure hope it is nothing too serious.
**UPDATE** A statement was released that said ” Due to Anthony Kiedis’ hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th. They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes. Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon.”
